Saul commits an act of disobedience by offering the burnt offering. The Israelites are scattered and hiding, and there’s no sign of Samuel; it’s an act of desperation. What kind of people are we under pressure? We must cling to the promises of the Lord. Saul is punished. God has chosen somebody else: David. David sinned too but the line of Christ would come through him instead of Saul.
