Bible Text: Mark 6:14-29 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Mark | There was a time when Herod was malleable. It seemed for a period of time that he might be shaped into a different kind of man. Herodias wants John put to death but Herod keeps him safe, knowing him to be a righteous and holy man. The atmosphere changes in an instant. Herod is distressed at the request for John’s head but it’s more important to him not to lose face in front of all the nobles who were present. Some hearts that are soft now might become hard in a very short time.
