We Rejoice in Our Sufferings
Bible Text: Romans 5:3-4 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Romans | We wait in hope of our bright tomorrow, seeing the glory of God, but Paul says our rejoicing is more than that! We even rejoice in our sufferings because of where they lead, producing hope. Often we have no idea what the purpose of a particular crisis is but the reason for the Christian is never that God is against us. It produces endurance or perseverance. It’s about keeping going when it’s hard to do so, but not by becoming more robust and independent. We remember our own weakness. There’s nothing wrong with mourning and weeping. We are filled with greater longing for the Lord’s return. Our hope is that the dead will rise, never to experience death again.
