Bible Text: Mark 8:1-10 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Mark | Some people think this is an example of muddled memories and that two different stories had developed with the feeding of the five thousand and four thousand. However, Jesus refers to both events. The question should be why were there two similar miracles? The disciples needed to see who Jesus was. He matches the description in Isaiah of the Messiah who would bring food to people unable to supply it for themselves. It is humbling to become a Christian; we have nothing to offer. In both cases there was an abundance left over; the church would know abundant blessing. Every believer is blessed with every spiritual blessing.
