They arrive at a point where it’s too late, as it was for Belshazzar. He would have known Daniel and known about his God, but throws this blasphemous feast. His ancestor Nebuchadnezzar was a wicked man who did some appalling things but God can save the vilest sinner. God is dealing with an entire civilisation in this passage. There are few countries that have been blessed with as much light as the United Kingdom. Is the writing on the wall for us?
