Bible Text: Acts 8:5-25 | Preacher: Bruce Powell | Simon had duped the people. Such bewitching is the work of the devil, the god of this world. He is not all powerful, but does have some control of men’s hearts. For multitudes, sport, entertainment, drugs, sex, music, even work and education are everything. They only bring temporary pleasure. A loved one dies, finances collapse, and the happiness is shattered because it was dependent on the circumstances. There was radical change in Samaria. The answer is not what but who: the Lord Jesus Christ. The good news is the word of powerful release.
