The Great “I am” Saying of Christ
Bible Text: John 11:25-26 | Preacher: Hywel George | Jesus had said Lazarus’ sickness was not unto death. Mary and Martha watch in disbelief as he dies. What do we do when the word of God challenges our faith? What do we do when we wake up every day with sickness? Lazarus’ sickness was also for the glory of God. Even sickness and death can be for His glory. Every hardship is an opportunity to honour God in our response to it. Martha’s grief is mixed with faith as she runs to Jesus. We need a clear, unobstructed view of Jesus. He is the resurrection and the life. Believers will really physically live after we have died. Death can touch us once and then never again. For the unbeliever death will be a grip that never lets go.
