The Glory of the Father and the Son
Jesus’ prayer here matches the structure of the high priest’s prayer before the Day of Atonement. He asks for the Father to glorify the Son. There is a glory of Jesus in the horror of the cross. He is about to be accused and sentenced, yet had been given authority; spiritual authority to give eternal life to all His people, chosen in Him before the foundation of the world. However the Bible doesn’t tell us to worry about whether our name is written in the book; whosoever will may come!
