It is now about a poor man in shabby clothing. God chooses the poor. We may think our life is dull and boring but then isn’t it more wonderful that Christ came to us? Poverty does not guarantee spirituality. For some it only gives them something to complain about. Jesus spoke of being poor in spirit. Before God we have nothing to offer. Jesus came that we might have His righteousness and be rich in Him.
