Preacher: James Allan | Series: Romans | Paul called the law holy, righteous and good but now in this chapter he calls it the law of sin and death. It shines a light upon our sin and brings death because it condemns us. There is no condemnation because of the law of the Spirit of life. He is speaking about the Holy Spirit who brings new life. He calls it a law to provide a contrast to the law that condemns. God does what the law can’t do by sending His Son. This is the heart of the gospel. He takes our sin and He is condemned in the flesh. God has an ultimate purpose in all this: the law can be fulfilled in us by what we do. We can be different people.
