This Psalm was written in a situation of difficulty. It begins with praise and ends with complaint. The Palmist encourages himself by recalling the promises to David. There is discipline, but this does not negate the promises. The promises to David are fulfilled in Christ. There will be a king who will reign forever. Like David, Christ was also victorious over His enemies and He accomplished salvation.
