When people hear the gospel and remain in their unbelief, God’s purpose is still fulfilled. His power is seen even in their unbelief. The second objection is that if people’s unbelief shows God’s power, how can God judge that unbelief? Paul takes their objection to the extreme; why not sin deliberately? If people do this, their condemnation is sure and just.
