Christ was alone on the road to Calvary, and also facing the hatred of the crowd. We see the Father’s love for Him in the provision of Simon to carry the cross, and the group of sympathisers around Him. We see Jesus’ love for us in His thinking about and warning the women, and His love for all people in His prayer for forgiveness for His enemies. How do we respond? Do we love Him?
