Keep the King’s Command and Fear God
Bible Text: Ecclesiastes 8:1-14 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Ecclesiastes | How do we live in a world where leaders don’t follow God? The king is described as doing what he pleases but his command is to be kept. Whatever authority exists has been put there by God for our good. When there is something contrary, we should obey God, but lockdown restrictions were on all parts of society, not just churches. We are to pray for those in authority so we may lead quiet lives and continue preaching the gospel. Even under restrictions, the gospel has advanced. Bad laws are made and the righteous are treated as if they are wicked and vice versa, but judgement is coming.
