We have seen David’s fear and lack of faith, but he is also a type of Christ. We see in this passage his care for his family and those in distress gathering around him. David waits until he know what God will do. We can have faith that God has planned everything down to the last detail. The prophet Gad tells David to go, and he does it, as Christ was willing to do God’s will. He is willing and able to save us.
