Jesus will be leaving the disciples soon and tells them they know the way to follow Him; there is no other way to God except through Him. Many do not like this exclusive claim; the gospel offends. The destination is the Father who is clean and pure and we are ill-prepared because we are not clean and pure. Jesus took the place of sinners on the cross and this is the only way to God.
