God’s Filthy People on Trial
Bible Text: Zechariah 3:1-4 | Preacher: Alex Hutter | Judah had just returned from captivity in Babylon. They carried on working on their own homes but not the temple. There is a courtroom scene. The Angel of the Lord (Jesus) is the judge. Satan is the prosecution at Joshua’s right hand. Joshua is there on behalf of all the Jews. Just look at how filthy he is! It represents the sin of the nation. The worst sin is not honouring God. That is like being clothed in our own filth. The judge rebukes Satan; these people are chosen.
