Saul has been busy killing Israelites but David goes to Keilah to save Israelites. He has a heart for the people of the Lord. David had the Lord’s word but Saul does not. David’s men are reluctant. He didn’t make a motivational speech but inquires of the Lord again. The Christian life is a battle. We do not need a motivational speech but the word of God. God’s word moves us and gives us direction.
