All of natural creation is waiting for this revealing. This isn’t just personification but Paul is writing about a real future event. Creation longs for this because of the curse of Adam’s sin. It is good for us to steward and take care of the earth but we have a better hope than those trying to save the world from climate change. The world will be set free. The fate of the natural world is bound up with the fate of humanity. Will we be part of the new world where there is no more suffering?
