Christ is the truth, and sometimes the truth hurts. The works of the church at Laodicea repulse Him because they are lukewarm. Wealth blinds them to their spiritual condition. Yet He is tender and offers them repentance and healing. They should buy gold refined in the fire, white garments to show they are His, and eye salve to see their true condition. We should be zealous for the Lord and zealous in repentance. We can then know communion with Christ.
