Jesus had told the disciples the great things they would do, and now He tells them how they will do them. They will be given another helper, “another” meaning more of the same. God Himself had been with them and God Himself will continue to be with them. The Christian life is difficult but we are not alone; the Holy Spirit is our helper or comforter. He knows the mind of the Father and gives us the words when we don’t know what to say or pray.
