Bible Text: Acts 12 | Preacher: Alun Johnson | John is executed and Peter is put in a maximum security prison. Is all lost? Today Christians are imprisoned and there is marginalisation and militant atheism. Even in our struggle, we have won because Jesus has died and risen. It’s God who is at work. Peter was asleep with no intention of escaping. We might be discouraged or in panic but when immorality is rampant we can’t do anything about it in and of ourselves. In another sense, we can do something about it: the church was earnestly praying for Peter. God was in control then and is in control today.
