Our hearts should be stirred by the suffering of Christians, as Daniel’s was by this vision of terrible things that would happen to God’s people hundreds of years later. He was overwhelmed but not paralysed. The accuracy is breathtaking, the little horn representing Antiochus Epiphanes. In attacking God’s people he is described as attacking God Himself. The time of persecution is limited and he is ultimately broken by the hand of God.
