“Jesus wept” are beautiful words. Here is proof of His humanity by which He sympathises with us and intercedes for us. Yet unlike us, He did not sin. He is also fully God. He wept over the consequences of sin, and was willing to die so His people would not have to take the punishment for it. He loves His people and will not cast us out. He saves because of what He accomplished on the cross. Do we dwell on it? In Him, death has been destroyed. Where is our hope?
