Bible Text: Mark 2:23-3:6 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Mark | We come to the last two of five controversies, ending with the Pharisees seeking how to destroy Jesus. To take grain was not unlawful. The problem the Pharisees had was that it was the Sabbath day. To prevent breaking the law they had put all kinds of other laws around it. We are to fill the Sabbath day and use it. We need weekly re-calibration; to be reminded of God’s Word. It is our delight. The fundamental issue is salvation. We are not right with God by keeping the law. Salvation is given freely by God’s grace.
