The prodigal sees what a fool he has been. He owns his own sin rather than blaming his father or brother. We are all accountable for the things we do and will appear before the judgement seat of Christ. There is no person in heaven who thinks they should be there. Our only hope of heaven is in Christ. We cannot take our sin to heaven, but like the prodigal, hope begins with considering who the Father is.
