Judgement will come sooner or later. It came sooner for Nabal. There is retributive justice; God’s anger and justice for what we have done. The Lord strikes Nabal and he dies. There is no escaping judgement but there is hope: we can give our sin to Christ and we will be safe on that day. David rejoices in the judgment on Nabal because God’s glory is seen in His justice.
