The emphasis on Jesus’ blood in Christianity may seem strange but we need to understand it in the context of sin which is indelible and puts us in debt to God, and unable to enter heaven. The blood of a sacrifice is required to clear the debt. The blood of animals in the Old Testament was just a picture. We need the real thing; the blood of Jesus.
