There nothing to suggest the New Testament gift of prophecy is any different to the Old Testament prophets who spoke words from God. It appears to differ from just preaching and teaching. Some Christians think the gift has ceased today while others think it continues. It should be tested and weighed, but we should also come with expectation that God will speak.
