Saul Saw and Knew That the Lord was With David
The life of Saul shows that resisting the Lord brings about a life of misery, a blurred moral framework, and a desire to see the Lord’s people fall. David is not governed by what men think of him like Saul. This passage holds out hope for the worst of sinners when we consider David’s fall with Bathsheba. God keeps His people as He kept David, even when David was unaware of the danger. We may suffer, but all God’s people are brought to glory.
