Bible Text: Romans 6:17-19 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Romans | Paul uses the picture of slavery to describe what it means to be a Christian. He says it’s necessary to use a picture because of their limitations, but  illustrations are limited in themselves. Being a slave of God isn’t harsh and cruel like slavery is. Jesus said His yoke is easy. The Romans were delivered to a standard of doctrine and it shapes them. Sin is not the Christian’s master and does not control them. Whereas we once gave all our energy to sin, our end goal is now the glory of God.
