Bible Text: Romans 6:5-10 | Preacher: James Allan | Series: Romans | The first half of verse five presented union with Christ negatively; we have died with Him. The second half looks at it positively in resurrection. There is a future resurrection that gives us great hope but Paul is primarily writing about what is true of the Christian now; the resurrection of verse four that we have already experienced. What is true of Christ is true of us because we are joined to Him. We are already in a place where sin does not command us. We are now fighting sin from the standpoint of victory. It no longer has any authority.
